Excellent new sitcom alert!
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Already on about series nine in America (or four, to be less OTT), this seems to be another show getting the Seinfeld/Larry Sanders treatment, while British television moves effortlessly into season thirty-nine of My Family, still unaware that it’s not particularly excellent.

This is the story of four thirtysomething meanies and Danny Devito running a bar in Philly… with hilarious results (arf!). The influences are there to see, with shades of Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and at times, even a little bit of the UK version of The Office. The bad news is that you’ll probably need to buy the US DVD if you really want to see it – or splash out on FX.
The good news is that below is a clip to make you forget about how horrible that bad news just felt.
No mention of Sweet Dee?! God, I love that crazy bitch. She’s the kinda girl I want to marry, in a weird and sexy way.
That looks good. *heads off to the Sky Planner to search the FX listings …*
Started watching season 4 and it’s really stepped up a gear. The plot lines have a kinda Seinfeld season 8 (post Larry David) abstract feel to them. All the characters are utterly obnoxious and self-absorbed but strangely likeable (even Danny Devito). The only thing that may put people of is that there’s a lot of shouting and people talking over one another (a la Curb).
