Forgotten beauties: Catherine Oxenberg

… who is related to Prince Charles

Dynasty was the greatest show on television for so many years. It was basically the 1980s equivalent of The Wire. A big ensemble cast, worrying intensity, storylines that made little sense, but culminated in extremely brutal acts of violence. Who could possibly forget the time Krystal and Alexis stood eyeball to eyeball, each with a gun pressed into the other one’s side, as Blake lay naked beside them in a heroin stupor? It was a heavy show. Which is why Catherine Oxenberg – playing the part of a dreadfully posh person – was a much needed breath of fresh air in between Dex Dexter’s endless monologues about the dangers of unprotected sex and HIV. She was great, with hair as light and feathery as a silk bedsheet dancing in the breeze on an old woman’s washing line. She also had piercing blue eyes, and a body so taut that you could play Squash on it. She has since gone on to star in shows with names like Swimsuit, Overexposed, and Sexual Response. What a gal.

Of course, as usual, there won’t be any gorgeous Catherine Oxenberg for the guys without a little Will Carling for the girls. Below is Tom Selleck.

You’re welcome.

Best thing about Ken Russell’s “Lair of The White Worm” and so much more. Here, she looks like a 15 year old victim of hair spray and history… it’s not fair…
