Forgotten beauties: Raquel Welch

Published: 19th Feb, 2009

Not, as you might assume, actually Welsh…

It was an episode of Seinfeld that first alerted us to Raquel Welch – who was this strange middle aged woman held in such awe in America? We got on the phone, and didn’t stop calling people until we’d got to the bottom of it. It took months, we skipped meals, we smoked heavily, we lost a lot of weight. It was a strange, almost pointless, time. These were the days before the internet, you understand. As it turns out, she was one hot piece of stuff back in the 1960s and 70s, most famous for having the kind of smooth streamline body that men in submarines write tearful soft rock ballads about. One heck of a gal. Just stunning. More recently she starred alongside Burt Reynolds in a film called Forget About It. Everyone, obediently, did.

As ever, we’re not going to throw someone hot like Raquel Welch out there for the boys without giving the girls a little bit of eye candy. Below is Tom Selleck.

You’re welcome.
